Pearl maintenance principles
1. Stay away from oil stains
Due to the tiny pores on the surface of dried pearls, it is easy to adsorb dirt into the air, and some small dust is inevitable. What we can do is to avoid wearing pearls in and out of the kitchen as much as possible. Kitchen fumes and steam can penetrate the pearls, causing the surface of the pearls to turn yellow.
2. Avoid contact with chemicals Do not wash and wash your hands with pearl jewelry, and avoid contact with acid-base substances, such as shower gel, detergent, perfume, etc. Please take off the pearl jewelry before using cosmetics, skin care products and perfume.
3. Avoid ultrasonic cleaning
Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners to clean pearls. The safe and appropriate practice is to occasionally clean thoroughly with mild soapy water (provided that the pearl layer is intact). If it is a string of pearls, it must be worn after the silk thread is thoroughly dried.
4. Properly placed
Pearls are gemstones that have moisture and prefer shade. They should be stored in a cool place with appropriate humidity. However, exposure to sunlight can cause dehydration and peeling of the pearl layer. In addition, pearls should not be placed together with desiccants to avoid phenomena such as yellowing caused by pearls being too dry.
